Privacy policy
Good to Fly is made by Good Enough Labs ("we"). It has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and we don't sell or share personal data.
Spots, drones and settings
Your saved spots, drones and settings are stored on your iPhone. If iCloud is on, they also go to your own iCloud so your other devices get them; we can't see them there. Deleting the app deletes the copy on your iPhone.
Location
When you allow it, the app uses your location to show the forecast where you are. It's used on your iPhone and, like any spot, sent to our server to get the forecast (below). Searching for a place goes to Apple Maps, under Apple's privacy policy.
Forecasts and restrictions
To get a forecast, the app sends a spot's coordinates to our server over an encrypted connection. The server rounds them to an area about 10 km wide, asks Open-Meteo and NOAA for that area, and checks the FAA's public airspace maps. Nothing in the request identifies you, and we don't store the coordinates. To stop abuse, the server counts requests per IP address for one minute and doesn't keep the address.
Alerts
Alerts are off until you turn them on. Then the app sends our server this iPhone's push token from Apple, the name of each spot with alerts, its location rounded to about 1 km, your drone's wind and temperature limits, your flight height and margin, and the alerts you picked. The server keeps these, checks the forecast for those spots, and sends alerts through Apple's push service. Turning alerts off, muting a spot or ending Pro deletes them from the server; if you delete the app, they're deleted the next time Apple tells us the token no longer works.
Purchases
Good to Fly Pro is sold by Apple through the App Store. The app only learns from Apple whether Pro is on; we never see your payment details. If you start the free week, the app schedules a reminder on your iPhone before it ends.
Crash reports
If you share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple sends us anonymous crash reports. You can turn this off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
Website and waitlist
If you join the waitlist on this site, we keep your email, the plan you picked, your country and how you found us, only to tell you when the app is out. Visits to the site are counted with the country and referring page, never linked to you. To be removed, write to us.
If you report a problem or write to us, we get your email address and message, use them only to answer you, and delete them when we're done.
Children
Good to Fly isn't directed to children under 13.
